Our newest addition to the Trickey Family

Tessie Brook and Sage are monstrous babies (especially compared to Ben).

Rafino Benjamin Domingues is three days old in this picture. He is a very nice little baby and we all laugh that he is whiter than my babies!
Ben sleeping. Notice how long his fingers are. At birth his hands and feet were longer than Sage's and she is twelve weeks older.

Halloween

T as a "skeleton monster." I definitely waited too long this year to think about Halloween costumes. Needless to say, T got to pick out a Walmart special.
Sage was a cute little bumble bee. She got to borrow a costume from Kristen.
We went trick or treating with all the Platt cousins. The best house of the night was the Whiting house. Both Jane and T were scared of the goblin sitting by the tree as well as the witch sitting on the stairs handing out candy. T would not leave Trey's side but when we got outside the gate he told Trey that he wasn't scared of those monsters!

Sage survived T's homecoming

Sage had some adorable newborn outfits but unfortunately they only fit for a few weeks.
T loved the flowers that Maren gave us from Sage's shower. Thanks again!
I thought Sage looked so cute at her baby shower.
I think that our little Sage is and always has been adorable, but she sure can make some funny faces! (If you'll notice her umbilical cord is still attached at this point. I think she was four or five days old.)

When we first had Sage my Mom, Jac and Broo were nice enough to keep T with them during the day and even at night. T loved it, but it was hard on me to leave him at night. The first day T came home for good he jumped on Sage, poked her eye and pulled on her hair. He wasn't being malicious but is just a rambunctious little boy. I, like most mothers with two year olds and a baby, have to hide Sage while I shower or do anything that pulls me away from a within seconds response. Luckily Sage is tough and T has gotten softer!

Sage and T

Our baby came a week early and was a cute little girl. We named her Sage Trickey Platt. Her coloring was just like T's when he was born and she had just as much hair as he did.

Trey was at work a lot when Sage was first born so when he was home he enjoyed time with both kids any way he could.

No matter how crazy the days get, when nap time comes along I am grateful for both of my kids!
T has not been too jealous of Sage and is mostly cute with "his sister." However, we occasionally have to spank him for hitting, pinching or jumping on Sage. She is going to be one tough little girl.
When Mac was born T seemed like a monster compared to him, and so Sage seems with Tessie Brook. A few months later Mac was quite a bit bigger than T, so I guess time will only tell if all of Jac's kids pass mine in size.

T and Gaige

We are lucky to live close to so many family members. T enjoys playing with all of them and hates when we pull into our own driveway to come home. We were lucky to have Gaige stay the night while my mom went to soccer camp this summer. Gaige is great to play with T as though T is his own age. I have never seen a seven year old be so inclusive of younger kids as Gaige is with his nephews. T and Gaige both love being outside so they had lots of fun simply playing in the yard. They also both love animals and oddly enough, Tri has warmed right up to both of them. Both boys sure know how to play hard. I honestly think that T considers Gaige his best friend and we are lucky that Gaige is good to treat T like his!

The Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is a fun time when we get to spend time with our Trickey family. Every year we watch the parade in Round Valley and then head to Grandma Trickey's for lunch. This year was no exception and even though it was hot we had a good time. We were also lucky this year to have a barbecue with our Platt family and then load up to watch the fireworks. I didn't get too many pictures, but these at least show some of the people we had fun with. T is definitely not lacking in family that he loves to be with.

Irrigation

I used to love playing in Grandma Ruth's irrigation, especially since we did not get it at our house. I am pretty sure every kid loves the dirt and grime that come with playing in the ditch water and T is no exception. It seems like a lot of our irrigation times are in the early morning or in the middle of the night, so T has not actually played in the water a ton. However, when he does, he enjoys every minute of it. On this particular day Trey could not get away from work, so I irrigated. T ran and splashed the entire water turn. In spite of a good nap, he slept so soundly that night that he when we checked on him, he was halfway off the bed and not the least bit disturbed by it!

Branding

Spring and summer are usually pretty busy times in the year for the cattle industry. I like these times because as a family we get to be involved a little more than usual with the work and in this particular case, the branding (not that I actually helped at all since I was/am pregnant). We usually invite family and friends to come and help depending on the number of calves that need branded and then eat lunch together after. Trey and Spence are always good to include their kids and wives as well as their siblings and their kids and even on occasion my little brother Gaige. I think we all enjoy being included no matter how useless we are or how much our kids get in the way. T definitely loves the animals and wants to be with his dad the entire time, which is not always easy for Trey. These are a few pictures I have from two different brandings. The second branding happened to be the windiest day of the spring even though the weekly forecast called for calm weather. Everyone was filthy, but those who actually did the work (as you can see on Trey) were literally covered with dirt.
This is definitely a last ditch effort to update my blog once and for all.
T loves going to work with his dad and Trey is great to take him when he is doing anything that can be done with a two year old. One particular day in May, Trey brought T home for lunch, his face covered with scratches and his nose bloodied. T apparently does not slow down even on the ranch and while running fell and skidded through the rocks. He is a tough little kid so needless to say he wanted to go back to work with dad after eating. Unfortunately for him, he fell asleep playing!

T's 2nd Birthday!

I am a bit behind in posts for Grandma and Papa so I am going to try to catch up. T had his second birthday at the end of April. I decided to make the day all about him. He licked the cake batter, he got some chicks (really Trey was getting them anyway but decided it would be fun for T to get them on his birthday), we had Gaige over to play, and luckily for me we had sporadic visitors throughout the day to bring him gifts (Lucy, Jane, Grandma Ruth, and my family). I wrapped one of his presents the night before so that we could tell him throughout the day that it was for his birthday. I had to work hard to keep him away from that present because he wanted to open it so badly. While I was icing the cake, Gaige and I noticed that T was quiet, which for most two year olds means trouble, we called his name and listened for a moment only to hear paper rustling in the corner of the kitchen. He had taken the present, hidden behind the red hutch and his high chair and proceeded to open his present. At that point I could only smile to myself that my two year old was smart enough to pull that off! Everyone was very nice in their gifts to T and he ended up having a great day. By the end of the night he was too tired even to unwind with mom and dad and fell fast asleep within two minutes of lying down.
